CUCUMBER (DOSAKAYA) CHUTNEY:

Ingredients:

cucumber -1 finely chopped

Tomatoes -2(small) finely chopped

Green chillies – 10 finely chopped

Tamarind (chinta pandu) -1 large lemon size measurement

Garlic (vellulli) - 10 flakes garlic

Salt - salt to taste

Oil – 3 or 4 tbsp

For tempering/poppu/tadka/talimpu/seasoning:

3 or 4 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp split black gram dal
4-5 dried red chillies (tear into pieces)
1 or 2 garlic flakes crushed
4 or 5 curry leaves

How To Make:

1.First cut cucumber into small pieces and keep aside(Note:don't cook cucumber pieces....raw cucumber chutney tastes good than cooked one).

2. Grind garlic,tomatoes,green chillies,tamarind ,salt to make paste .

3.Heat oil in one pan add thalimpu then add this above paste and fry for 5 min .

4. Turn off heat and cool above paste.

5. Now add above paste to the cucumber pieces & mix thoroughly.

6. Serve with hot rice or dosa with desi ghee.
